About Matt :

 

Matt is a Bakersfield native, a graduate of North High School, and has spent the last 20 years building a reputation as a talented artist, dedicated father, and genuine friend to countless people in the community.

 

As a tattoo artist, Matt has always been passionate about his craft. Over the course of two decades, he has created thousands of tattoos and built lasting relationships with the people who sat in his chair. His work has taken him beyond Bakersfield for guest spots in various cities, including spending a year living and working in Ashtabula, Ohio, just outside of Cleveland. No matter where he went, he brought the same creativity, work ethic, and ability to make people feel comfortable and welcome.

 

But if you ask the people who know him best, they’ll tell you that being an artist is only part of who Matt is.

 

Above all else, Matt is a father.

 

His son Felix has always been the center of his world. Whether it was sharing his love of art, making memories together, or simply being there when it mattered most, Matt has always taken pride in being Felix’s dad. The bond they share is something everyone who knows them can see.

 

Matt is also the kind of person who would show up without being asked, help without expecting anything in return, and make people laugh even on their worst days. The outpouring of support since his medical crisis has been a reflection of the impact he has had on so many lives over the years.

 

Today, Matt faces the biggest challenge of his life. While his road to recovery will be long, he is surrounded by a community that loves him and believes in him.
